San Jose, CA - Henry Thrun, who played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints during the 2020-21 season, made his NHL debut last night for the San Jose Sharks.

In his debut against the Vegas Golden Knights, Thrun shined early with an assist on his second shift of the night on Mario Ferraro's game opening goal 4:16 into the game. Just over ten minutes later, Thrun added another assist on Oskar Lindblom's sixth goal of the season. Thrun finished his NHL debut with two assists, a +1 rating, and two blocked shots in 18:46 of ice time. He was named the second star of the game.

"It was super exciting," Thrun said following the game. "It was really nice to get a team win at home. I think the first period went pretty well for me. I was just trying to keep it simple and enjoy the first couple of shifts and build off from there."

Thrun spent the 2019-20 season at Harvard, posting 21 points in 31 games before coming to Dubuque the following season when the Ivy League canceled the winter sports season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thrun played in 24 games for the Fighting Saints with eight goals and 14 assists. He returned to Harvard the next season and signed with the Sharks at the end of this collegiate season.
