Weekend Preview: Weekend Homestand for Caps to Start April

Following the postponement of Friday's game, Madison kicks off a two-game weekend on Saturday night as they host Cedar Rapids to face off against the RoughRiders. The Caps follow the now stand-alone series against the RoughRiders with a single game series against the USNTDP U-17's.

Coming into the weekend, Madison is 1-3-0-0 on the season against Cedar Rapids. The one win comes in the two teams most recent meeting in Cedar Rapids on March 18th by a score of 5-4. A great game on both ends of the ice for Madison included a huge save at the buzzer by Rastislav Elias to bring home the two points for Madison. Scoring in that game for the Caps included Brendan Lamb, Ethan Elias, Finn Brink, and Andrew Kuzma who registered two in the contest. Madison will look to put on a similar performance on Saturday evening.

The first home game of the weekend on Saturday is scheduled for a 7:05 puck drop. On that night, the Capitols are hosting their annual Make-A-Wish Night presented by Bergstrom Automotive. This means that we are raising funds for a local family whose son's wish is to go to Walt Disney World Resorts. They'll be running the 50/50 that night as well has having other initiatives throughout the night.

Then, on Sunday, the Capitols will face off against the USNTDP U-17's. This will be the fourth matchup between the two sides this season with the first three coming on the road in Plymouth, MI. In those three games, Madison is 1-2-0-0 with the U-17's taking the most recent matchup in February. Overall on the season, the Caps are 1-6-0-0 against the National Team Development Program with the four additional losses coming to the U-18's.

Sunday will not only be fun inside the rink but on the outside as well as that afternoon Madison is hosting their annual Caps Carnival outside the arena. The carnival runs from 1-3 pm on Sunday afternoon. Once you get in the arena, it's our annual STEM & Star Wars day with all of your favorite Lucas Film characters in attendance that day.

Tickets for both of the games this weekend are scheduled for tickets.madcapshockey.com. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Saturday night to be followed by a 3:05 pm puck drop on Sunday.
