Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas – Monday night, the El Paso Diablos staged a shocking comeback to down the Round Rock Express. 24 hours later, Matt Henrie made sure no comeback would be needed.

Round Rock couldn't get on track versus Henrie and he drove in a pair of runs himself to drop the Express, 5-2, in front of 10,820 at The Dell Diamond.

The Express offense had fared well against the Diablos in the last two games of the series, averaging 6.5 runs. However, Henrie was highly effective in limiting Round Rock to only eight hits in 7.1 innings.

The Express had opportunities to break through for big innings in the first and fourth. Round Rock had two on with one out in the first, but a pair of nice defensive plays by Scott Hairston and Brian Barden limited the Express to one run.

The story was similar three innings later. Chris Tremie drove in Tommy Whiteman for Round Rock's second run, but Henrie avoided the one big follow up hit that would have led to a bigger inning.

On the bright side, Chris Burke went 2 for 4 and had his best defensive night at shortstop this season, making three outstanding plays in the field.

Cheyenne Janke (2-4) got the loss after giving up four runs on seven hits in four innings. Henrie (4-3) was the winner and Jesus Silva picked up his second save.

The Express will have and day off Wednesday before embarking on a ten game road trip starting Thursday in San Antonio.
