Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers, the "AA" affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that they have signed Adam Henrich to a contract for the 2007-08 season.

Henrich, 23, is a familiar sight to Nailers fans having played for Johnstown during parts of the last three seasons. The 6-foot-4-inch, 240 pound winger also has 102 games of experience in the American Hockey League playing for the Springfield Falcons.

"It will be nice to see Adam on our side of the ice this season," said Nailers President Jim Brooks. "We are obviously well aware of what he is capable of and are very excited to have him in a Nailers sweater."

Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round (#60 overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Henrich combines an offensive threat with a physical presence recording 116 points (48g, 68a) and 354 penalty minutes in 191 career games between the ECHL and AHL.

Prior to signing with the Lightning, Henrich played four years with the Brampton Battalion in the OHL. He scored at least 58 points in his final three seasons as an amateur.

Wheeling's training camp begins tomorrow, 10a.m., at WesBanco Arena.

The Nailers will open the ECHL's 20th Anniversary season with a game against the Johnstown Chiefs on Oct. 18th. It will be a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals. Wheeling will open their home schedule on Oct. 26 against the South Carolina Stingrays.
