
RoadRunners Release 2007 Training Camp Roster

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have announced their 2007 training camp roster. Players will report Sunday for introductory meetings and physicals at US Airways Center. On-ice workouts begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale.
The RoadRunners current training camp roster includes 12 forwards, 9 defensemen, and two goaltenders. Among those competing for a spot on the 2007-08 regular season roster that were not previously announced are forward Steve Covington, defenseman Jeff Moor, and goaltender Nathan Lawson.
Covington, 21, tallied seven goals, 29 points, and 70 penalty minutes in 70 games last season with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League. He was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the seventh round (#226 overall) at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Moor, 21, collected two goals, seven assists, and 171 penalty minutes in 36 games in 2006-07 between the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL and the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
Lawson, 24, went 10-15-2 in 27 starts last season at the University of Alaska-Anchorage with a 3.03 goals against average and a .893% save percentage.
Center Cam Paddock, who was previously announced as having signed a contract, is currently on a professional try-out agreement with San Antonio of the American Hockey League.
The RoadRunners would like to extend an invitation to all members of the media to join Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Church, Assistant Coach Brian O'Leary, and members of the 2007-08 team from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8 at US Airways Center for Media Day. Media Day will take place at the Phoenix Suns Practice Court, which is located on the event level of US Airways Center across from the RoadRunners locker room.
The RoadRunners will visit the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League in the "Battle of the Desert" pre-season series at 7:05 p.m. Oct. 12 and 13 at the Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley. Tickets for both pre-season games are on sale now and will be $13 regardless of location in Tim's Toyota Center. The RoadRunners return to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 when they host the Utah Grizzlies to commence their third season in the desert.
