Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are teaming up with AFLAC for the fifth annual Strike Out Cancer Day at Time Warner Cable Field. The special event takes place on Sunday, July 11th as the Timber Rattlers take on the Burlington Bees at 1:05pm.
Timber Rattler fans can help raise money and awareness for area cancer charities by attending the game. For every ticket purchased on July 11, one dollar will be donated to one of the charities participating in the event. The Foundation for Children with Cancer will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win baseballs autographed by current Milwaukee Brewers.
Additionally, there is a Locks of Love Drive during the game. Stylists from Shear Chaos Salon will be at the game to cut hair for people who wish to donate their long hair to Locks of Love. Participants in this drive will be recognized on field during the game.
Cancer survivors will be recognized on field prior to the game during a pre-game parade. Several of the survivors will throw out a first pitch.
Another way to help raise money on Sunday is to stop by the Buffalo Wild Wings on Casaloma Drive after the game. The restaurant will donate 10% of their proceeds between 4:00pm and 8:00pm on July 8 to Strike Out Cancer.
All money raised will go to the following charities:
* Families of Children with Cancer
* Marshfield Clinic Department of Pediatric Oncology
* Community Benefit Tree
* AFLAC Children's Cancer Center
Every Sunday at the ballpark is a Brewers Sunday presented by 107.5, The Fan. Milwaukee Brewers legend Cecil Cooper is making a special appearance to throw out a ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs during the game this Sunday. The Timber Rattlers will wear jerseys inspired by the 1982 Brewers. Fans may play catch on the field before the game. There is also a post game autograph session with the current Timber Rattlers team for all fans.
