Reading Fightin Phils News Release
(Reading, PA) - The Reading Phillies upcoming eight-day, nine-game homestand is sure to be one for the ages, and as part of the exciting homestand, the R-Phils are announcing that on Monday, August 30, Gluttony Night returns for the final time in 2010 - and perhaps ever, unless we hear from you!
"We are excited to bring fans one more Gluttony Night this season," said R-Phils GM Scott Hunsicker. "But, we really want fans to come out and show their support, or it could be the last Gluttony Night we ever do here in Reading. And, by support, I mean by taking advantage of unlimited food for just $10.00."
For just $10.00 on Gluttony Night, fans can eat, and eat, and well, eat some more! In fact, for just $10.00, fans can purchase a wristband, which will allow them to take advantage of All-You-Can Eat at the Concession Stands until the seventh-inning stretch, thanks to Land Displays 15th Anniv. And Rock Hits Y102. For just $15.00, fans can get a discounted combo ticket, which includes your choice of a Green Reserved or General Admission ticket and the All-You-Can-Eat items.
On the last Gluttony Night, which was held on Tuesday, June 1, the average "Glutton" consumed $24.51 worth of food for their $10.00 investment. While everyone loves the typical ballpark food, the R-Phils are pleased to offer all fans that purchase the wristband, unlimited amounts of delicious hotdogs, French fries, pizza, cheeseburgers, funnel cake, ice cream, and fountain drinks (Pepsi products).
"All fans who have ever come out to a Gluttony Night know how extraordinary the night really is", added Hunsicker. "Speaking frankly, we would love to host Gluttony Night again in 2011. In 2009, the number of people that came out for Gluttony Night was tremendous. Thus far in 2010, the number of "Gluttons" has been down a bit. We'll see how many people want the $10 All-You-Can-Eat deal on August 30th, and then decide if Gluttony Night makes the promo calendar for 2011."
Food court gates open at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, and Grammy-Award Winning guitarist David Cullen will take the stage for an exciting 90-minute musical performance (5:00 - 6:30 p.m.). Fans 21 and older can enjoy $1.00 off select beers from 5:00-6:00 p.m. for Happy Hour and of course, can eat all the delicious food they want for hours - for just $10.00!
First pitch of Monday's game is set for 7:05 p.m. and the R-Phils are set to host the New Britain Rock Cats in game one of their four-game series. Also, as part of the exciting day at America's Classic Ballpark, the R-Phils will hold Fan Appreciation Day, thanks to Rock Hits Y102. The celebration will include a Fan Appreciation entry form for all fans that enter the ballpark. Fans can drop their entry form at any one of 14 prize tables. Each prize table sponsor has provided a prize valued at least $200. Also, 20 adults can sign up at the Y102 prize table during the 5:00 Happy Hour for the pre-game prize toss -- over $3,000 in prizes will be awarded to the 20 lucky adults. And, 100 kids can sign up at the Y102 prize table during the 5:00 Happy Hour for the pre-game Candy Grab sponsored by Promotion in Motion Company featuring Welch's Fruit Snacks, Gummy Sour Sqworms and Gummy Sour Dudes.
Monday's game is also a 4 for $48 Family Night, and fans can get four yellow box seat tickets, four sodas, four hot dogs, and the opportunity to play catch on the field before the 7:05 p.m. contest, thanks to Capital BlueCross. Also, families can take advantage of a $16 Family Night at the Pool, which features a two and a half hour buffet at a poolside picnic table and a visit from a Reading Phillies player, courtesy of the Reading Eagle.
The R-Phils return home for their final homestand of 2010 on Thursday, August 26. Single-game tickets for the 2010 season, presented by Pepsi, are on-sale now and can be purchased in-person at FirstEnergy Stadium, by calling (610) 375-8469 or by visiting www.readingphillies.com. Fans can also add the all-you-can-eat Deck Buffet to any ticket for only $11.
