New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League received RHP Arias Santos today from Ft. Myers in the Single-A Florida State League. The 23-year-old native of La Romana, Dominican Republic began the 2010 Season in New Britain, making 22 appearances for the 2010 Rock Cats prior to his reassignment to Ft. Myers in June. While a member of the Double-A classification Rock Cats staff, the 5'11"/162-pound Arias posted a 0-7 record with a 4.50 ERA.

Primarily a reliever in New Britain, the slender right-hander was converted to a starting

role with the Miracle and, in 12 such appearances for Ft. Myers, compiled a 4-5 / 4.17

mark. He tossed a total of 69 innings in the Florida State League, nearly double the 36 frames worked for the Rock Cats.

Signed by the Minnesota Twins as a non-drafted Free Agent in 2005, Santos is now in his fifth season of professional baseball. He will join the Rock Cats tonight in Binghamton, NY where they are scheduled to play a Twi-Light Doubleheader against the host Mets.
