Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid back-to-back losses as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the middle game of a three-game series at Blair County Ballpark. Last night, the 'Wolves dropped the series opener to Altoona 5-1. The Curve scored all five runs in the first two innings. The SeaWolves, despite outhitting Altoona 10-7, stranded 12 baserunners and went just 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Altoona is the hottest team in the league as they push for a division crown. Altoona has won eight of its last 10 games and leads the division by eight games over Bowie and Harrisburg...The SeaWolves have dropped two of their last three games but are still six games over .500 in the month of August. Since July 29, the SeaWolves are 16-7...After beginning the season taking seven of the first 10 meetings in the season series from the Curve, Erie has gone on to drop seven of the last eight to Altoona...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for the Howlers making his 26th start and third against Altoona. After going over a month without a win, Below has won two of his last three starts. He is 1-1 against the Curve. In his last start against Harrisburg, the lefty allowed three runs on five hits with a walk and five strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work...Righty Jared Hughes is 0-1 with a no-decision in two previous starts against Erie.
