Jackson Generals News Release

Sevierville, Tenn. - The Seattle Mariners announced a roster move on Tuesday affecting the Double-A Jackson Generals prior to starting a series against the Tennessee Smokies Tuesday. Infielder Brock Hebert has been promoted from Class A Advanced Bakersfield to the Generals. No corresponding move was necessary, as Jackson had an open roster spot.

Hebert, 25, joins the Generals after starting the season in Bakersfield. In 22 games with the Blaze, Hebert hit .291 with a home run, a triple, six doubles and seven RBI. He drew 17 walks in 22 contests, giving him a healthy on-base percentage of .419. The utility man has already played five positions - second base, shortstop, third base, left field, center field - for Bakersfield.

This won't be the first stint for Hebert with the Generals. He played in 39 games with Jackson in 2014, hitting .177 with a pair of doubles and 10 runs batted in. That year, Hebert made it to Triple-A Tacoma for three games as well. He has played six positions, including pitcher, over the course of a five-year pro career. Seattle drafted Hebert in the 14th round in 2012 out of Southeastern Louisiana University.

Jackson's roster now stands at 25 active players with four on the disabled list. Hebert will wear No. 44.
