Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, B.C. - The line of Stefan Meyer, Ales Kotalik and Quintin Laing would combine for 12 points as the Abbotsford Heat avenged their Friday night loss with a 6-2 drubbing of the Providence Bruins on Saturday night at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

Meyer would score three goals on the night, while Laing would chip in with a goal and three assists. Kotalik would add four assists on the evening, which is a new record for Heat assists in one game. Aldergrove's Matt Keith would net his team leading 18th goal of the season while defenseman Joe Piskula would score his first goal in a Heat uniform, and his first goal in 110 games, to round out the Heat scoring.

JP Lamoureux would grab the win between the pipes for the Heat, who finish their six-game home stand with a 3-2-1-0 record. The win leaves the Heat just four points back of the playoffs and six points out of first place in the competitive North Division.

The Abbotsford Heat will now head on the road for their next five games beginning with a matchup versus the Texas Stars on Tuesday, March 1st at 5:30pm. Be sure to catch all the action on Country 107.1 with Dave Sheldon.
