Heat Downs Marlies 4-3

Toronto Marlies News Release


The Abbotsford Heat defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 4-3 tonight at the Abbotsford Sports and Entertainment Centre.

Josh Leivo opened the scoring for the Marlies at 2:33 of the first period. The Heat would respond with three goals in a span of less than two minutes to close out the opening frame. Petter Granberg and Stefan Legein recorded the only two goals of the second period to tie the game at three. Granberg's goal was his first tally in the American Hockey League. Michael Ferland would get the eventual game winning goal on a powerplay at 14:05 of the third period.

The Marlies and Heat will square off again tomorrow afternoon at the Abbotsford Sports and Entertainment Centre in B.C. Puck drop is 7 p.m. ET.
