
Heat Clinch Fourth With Win Over Marlies

Abbotsford, BC -Abbotsford defeated the Toronto Marlies 3-0 in a tight-checking affair at the AESC on Friday night. With the victory, the Heat clinched fourth place in the AHL Western Conference.
Hugh Jessiman notched an unassisted marker in the opening period and added an assist on Jon Rheault's insurance goal late in the third. Clay Wilson potted an empty netter with just over a minute remaining to seal the win for the home side.
Danny Taylor had a strong performance between the pipes, stopping all 22 shots he faced for his fifth shutout of the season.
These two clubs will renew acquaintances on the final day of the AHL regular season in a Sunday afternoon affair at the AESC in Abbotsford's Fan Appreciation event where the Heat will be giving 5,000 prizes including a Sick Civic courtesy of Honda Way and the Abbotsford News. Puck-drop is scheduled for 1:00pm and the game can be heard live at theahl.com or on Country 107.1.
