Heart Beats and Hockey Sticks: Need to Know
February 4, 2016 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack, in partnership with the Owen Sound Cardiac Rehabilitation program, the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation and Leeder and Associates Wealth Management Group of RBC Dominion Securities is pleased to present the first ever Heartbeats and Hockey Sticks event in support of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program this Saturday, Feb. 6.
The goal of Heartbeats and Hockey Sticks is to raise money for a very valuable program for people in Grey and Bruce counties living with heart disease. The money raised will fund a new home based exercise program that will let 50 more people enter the program each year. This home program will shorten the wait time and will still allow people who cannot travel to the YMCA regularly benefit from cardiac rehabilitation.
Saturday's game against the Guelph Storm will feature a number of events throughout the course of the evening as well as the return of former Owen Sound Attack forward Jeffrey Gilligan, who was sadly forced out of hockey due to a heart condition.
A full schedule of events, as well as some of the prizes available in the silent auction, can be found below.
