Hearn, Stampede Beat D-Fenders at the Buzzer

BOISE, Idaho - Stampede guard Reggie Hearn knocked down a jumper at the buzzer to give the Idaho Stampede (19-15) a 129-128 overtime victory over the Los Angeles D-Fenders (19-13).

Hearn's bucket came seven seconds after he was called for his sixth foul. With two Stampede players inactive and two other players having already fouled out, Idaho was forced to keep Hearn in the game resulting in a technical foul. Los Angeles guard Shawne Williams missed the technical free throw keeping the game at a 127-127 tie. D-Fenders guard Terrence Williams, who drew Hearn's sixth foul, made one of two free throws with 7.9 seconds remaining in overtime to give Los Angeles a 128-127 lead. Hearn inbounded the ball to Stampede forward Jason Ellis who gave it right back to Hearn at the top of the 3-point line. After losing the ball at his ankles, Hearn picked it up and made a leaning jumper at the buzzer to give Idaho the overtime victory.

The Stampede's biggest lead was seven while the D-Fender's was 11 in a game that included 20 lead changes. Idaho shot 50 percent from the field compared to Los Angeles' 41 percent.

Terrence Williams led the D-Fenders with 33 points and six rebounds. Josh Magette added a double-double of 18 points and 12 assists to pace the offense. Shawne Williams pitched in with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Kevin Murphy led all scorers with 47 points. Dee Bost recorded his fifth triple-double of the season with 12 points, 16 rebounds and 15 assists. Derrick Caracter scored 22 points off the bench in the winning effort.

The Stampede travel to Bakersfield on Monday, Feb 24 for their next game. The D-Fenders will host Springfield on Feb 24 for their next home game.
