Haydar Featured in Ad Campaign
October 27, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee Admirals forward Darren Haydar is currently the focus of an international advertising campaign from Bauer Nike Hockey. The campaign, which uses the tagline "Player Made," features Haydar both in print ads and on their website at www.bauer.com.
Haydar, who just began his third year in an Admiral uniform, is featured in a 75 second video on the site where he talks about his journey from junior hockey to the professional ranks and his ability to excel despite being one of the smaller players on the ice.
"Darren Haydar typifies the exact player we had in mind when Bauer created the "Player Made" campaign", noted Bauer Nike Hockey Public Relations Manager Steve Jones. "Hockey players of all ages -- from youth to elite level -- can identify a bit of themselves in Darren Haydar and his love for the game of hockey."
A native of Milton, ONT, Haydar was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the outstanding college hockey player in the nation, when he was a senior at the University of New Hampshire. After being drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Haydar was named the American Hockey League's Rookie of the Year in 2002-03. Last season the 5-9, 170-lb right wing topped the AHL in playoff scoring with 26 points as he helped the Admirals claim the Calder Cup Title.
The Admirals are back on the ice this weekend when they play a home-and-home series with the Utah Grizzlies. The two teams will play at 8:05 central time on Friday in Salt Lake before heading back to the Bradley Center for a 7:30 pm contest at the Bradley Center.
