BOISE, Idaho - Gioskar Amaya went 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI as the Boise Hawks won their second-straight game, knocking off the Eugene Emeralds, 6-4, before 3,075 fans at Memorial Stadium.

Amaya lined an RBI single in the sixth inning to give the Hawks the two-run lead and would need it in the ninth, as the Ems loaded the bases with one out. However, Bryce Shafer enduced a game ending double play grounder from Clark Murphy to pick up his second save.

Eugene took an early 1-0 lead in the first on a B.J. Guinn RBI groundout, but the Hawks responded as Jeimer Candelario golfed a three-run homer to right in the bottom of the inning - his league leading third of the season. Amaya made it 4-1 in the second with a run-scoring single, before an pair of Boise errors in the third allowed Eugene to close the gap to 4-2.

Eduardo Gonzalez singled home a run in the third to push the Hawks lead to 5-2, before an RBI double by Alexi Colon and Jairo Gomez sacrifice fly in the fourth cut the deficit to 5-4. The Boise bullpen took over from there, tossing five and one-third innings of shutout relief.

Matt Spencer tossed two shutout frames, striking out two, to pick up his first win, with Will Scott allowing five runs for Eugene in taking the loss.

Gonzalez went 2-for-4 in the win for the Hawks, while Goose Kallunki and Alberth Martinez each had two hits for the Ems.

Game 4 of the series is tomorrow night, with Ian Dickson meeting Mike Watt at 7:15 p.m.
