Hawks to Host Portland's Biggest New Year's Eve Party; Fans Can Tune in to Upcoming Broadcasts

December 18, 2015 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Portland Winterhawks News Release

The Winterhawks will ring in 2016 hosting Portland's biggest New Year's Eve party with their annual tilt against the Seattle Thunderbirds on December 31.

The annual Toyota New Year's Eve game will be fun for fans of all ages, starting when the Moda Center's doors open before the game with an inflatable bounce house and obstacle course on the concourse for kids, with other family fun.

At 7:30 the puck will drop when the Hawks host their longtime rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds in an important U.S. Division matchup.

Once the game is over, Winterhawks players will stay to skate with fans on the Moda Center ice. Fans can bring their skates and take part in this fun tradition with their hockey heroes.

It all leads into a live countdown to midnight on the arena's big screen, when there will be a balloon drop, in which fans will find cash in select balloons.

Fans who can't make it to the Toyota New Year's Eve game can watch it live on Portland's CW32. It's one of three games coming up during the holidays televised live as part of the team's television schedule on Portland's CW32.

In addition to the New Year's Eve game, Saturday's contest in Spokane will be seen live, as will the game on Saturday, January 2 at the Moda Center, also against the Chiefs.

Group tickets include free Winterhawks hats starting at only $18 each while ticket plans begin at $90 each and include free Winterhawks scarves. Email seats@winterhawks.com or call 503-236-HAWK to buy seats today.
