Evansville Otters News Release

The Rockford RiverHawks scored two runs in the first inning and three in the second, giving them a lead they would not lose as Rockford defeated the Evansville Otters 6-0.

The RiverHawks got to Otters starter Brian Kroll for two runs on two hits in the first and scored three on five hits in the second. Aaron McEachran had an RBI single in each inning to lead the Rockford.

The rest of the game belonged to Joe Barbosa who threw a complete game, shutout. The right-hander was masterful as he allowed the Otters just 4 hits over the nine innings of work. Evansville had only one runner reach second base.

Brian Kroll (1-2) took the loss for the Otters. One bright spot for Evansville was the performance of Adam Zimmerman. Zimmerman was signed less than three hours before the game started and pitched the seventh and eighth giving up only a homerun to McEachran in the two innings.

Evansville now travels to Kalamazoo for three games against the Kings. Andre Simpson (2-3) gets the start in game one for the Otters. The game can be heard on 91.5 WUEV. Friday's game starts at 5:35 p.m.
