Rockford RiverHawks News Release

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks are giving the shirts off their backs Saturday night.

During their 7:05 p.m. game against the Ohio Valley Redcoats at Marinelli Field, the RiverHawks will don throwback jerseys inspired by the 1980s Houston Astros' rainbow tops. Throwback Jersey Night is sponsored by Bisconti Computers, WKGL-FM and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

"It's been a pleasure working with the MDA, planning this great day," RiverHawks director of sales Josh Olerud said.

Following that night's game, the MDA will auction off game-worn jerseys of all the players and coaches, as well as Rocko the mascot. Proceeds will benefit the MDA.

The entire run of these highly collectible items is just 35, so fans are urged to be generous and support Jerry's Kids. The players will autograph their jerseys for the winning bidders following the auction.

The RiverHawks are the defending champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 13th season. All games are broadcasted live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 - the Hub.
