The Rockford right-hander tossed his second straight four-hit shutout as the RiverHawks beat the Evansville Otters, 6-0.
Barbosa (2-0) struck out five, walked one and allowed one batter to advance beyond second base. No Otter reached third. In his last start, Barbosa shut out Washington, 3-0, on Saturday.
Aaron McEachran was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI to extend his hitting streak to seven games, in front of 1,421 at Marinelli Field.
The RiverHawks scored twice in the first when McEachran singled to right to drive in one run. A second runner came home on an errant throw from right fielder Trask Munoz. McEachran singled in a run during Rockford's three-run second inning and led off the eighth with his fifth home run of the season and second of the series.
Evansville starter Brian Kroll (1-2) lasted six innings and took the loss. The RiverHawks continue the homestand with a three-game series against the Ohio Valley Redcoats, starting at 7:05 p.m. Friday. Blackhawk Communications sponsors RiverHawks Logo Baseball Night, a premium giveaway for the first 1,000 fans.
The RiverHawks are the defending champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 13th season. All games are broadcasted live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 - the Hub.
