Boise Hawks News Release

YAKIMA, Wash. - Steve Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a go-ahead two-out, two-run single in the sixth inning, as the Yakima Bears ended the Boise Hawks six-game road win streak with a 4-3 victory at County Stadium.

Trailing 3-1 in the sixth, the Bears loaded the bases off Hawks reliever Nathan Dorris, as Yogey Perez-Ramos walked, Kevin Medrano singled, and Jacob House walked. Joe Loftus singled home a run to get Yakima within 3-2, with Rodriguez following an out later with a grounder through the right side to score two, giving the hosts the lead.

The Yakima bullpen did the rest, as the Hawks did not have a hit after the fourth inning. R.J. Hively tossed two perfect innings, with Jose Locante getting the final three outs for his third save. Starter Daniel Watts went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits for his fourth win.

Boise jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second, getting back-to-back RBI doubles from Xavier Batista and Marco Hernandez, and a bases loaded walk to Jeimer Candelario - but had just two other runners reach third base the rest of the way.
