Boise Hawks News Release
PASCO, Wash. - Ryan Casteel went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, helping the Tri-City Dust Devils defeat the Boise Hawks, 3-2, at Gesa Stadium.
The Dust Devils got on the board in the second on back-to-back doubles by Casteel and Juan Crousset, extending the lead to 2-0 in the fourth, when Casteel lined a triple into the right field corner, scoring Jared Simon.
Boise cut the margin to 2-1 in the fifth on a perfectly executed squeeze bunt by Wes Darvill and nearly tied it an inning later, loading the bases with two out, but Nelson Gonzalez fanned Dustin Harrington to get out of the jam.
An RBI double by Tyler Massey in the sixth gave the hosts a 3-1 lead, before Willson Contreras lined an RBI single through the middle in the seventh to get Boise within a run. However, Kenneth Roberts struck out two over the final two frames to pick up his seventh save of the year.
Starter Chris Jensen notched his first win of the year with five and a third innings of four hit ball - taking a no-hitter into the fifth.
Rafael Lopez went 2-for-3 in the loss for the Hawks, who dropped their 15th road game in 17 tries. Reliever Kyler Burke was stellar, tossing two and a third shutout innings, striking out three.
Game 3 tomorrow night will pit Yao-Lin Wang against Christian Bergman at 8:15 p.m. MT
