Boise Hawks News Release
BOISE, Idaho - Tayler Scott and two relievers combined on a five-hit shutout, as the Boise Hawks defeated the Tri-City Dust Devils, 1-0, before 2,436 fans at Memorial Stadium.
Scott allowed just four hits and struck out four to pick up his second straight victory, while Hayden Simpson retired 9-of-10 batters, and Eddie Orozco fanned two in the ninth to pick up his first save of his professional career.
Tri-City had their best scoring chance in the opening inning, as Scott walked Zach Osborne and Tom Murphy - but Osborne was thrown out at the plate by left fielder Xavier Batista to end the inning after a single from Francisco Sosa.
The Hawks tallied the lone run of the contest in the third, as Carlos Escobar led off with a double, scoring on a Jeimer Candelario two-out RBI single.
Escobar went 2-for-2 with a walk for the Hawks, who won back-to-back games for the fourth time this season.
Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night, with Ian Dickson meeting T.J. Oakes at 7:15 p.m.
