
Hawks confirm 2005-2006 schedule

Home Opener October 1st vs. Kelowna Portland, OR - The Portland Winter Hawks 2005-06 regular season schedule is now official. Building venues and game times have been added to the game dates and opponents that were anounced last week. The schedule includes 17 regular season games in the Rose Garden and 18 in Memorial Coliseum. The location of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday game on January 16th with the Spokane Chiefs has not been determined.
The puck drops in Portland for the first time in 2005- 06 on October 1st when the Winter Hawks host the defending WHL Champions, Kelowna Rockets in the Rose Garden at 7pm. Circle October 8th on your calendar, as it's the first meeting between Portland and Seattle. The Winter Hawks will play the Everett Silvertips for the first time since last season's playoff defeat on October 23rd. The 2005-06 promotional schedule is currently being determined.
The pre-season exhibition tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 14, 2005, between the Portland Winter Hawks and Everett Silvertips has been cancelled due to a building conflict. The date was originally difficult for both teams so it will not be rescheduled.
