
Hamill Leads the Way for Canada in Win Over Czech Republic

Zach Hamill continues his red hot scoring pace with 2 goals and 1 assist to help lead Canada to a 6-2 win over the Czech Republic at the Under-18 Junior World Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic. With the victory, Canada finishes group play 3-0 and earns a guaranteed spot in the Semi-Finals.
Brady Calla also factored in the scoring with his first goal of the tournament in the first period. Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving did not play in tonight's game. Hamill is currently among the tournament leaders in scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 3 games for Canada.
Canada's next game will be on Saturday, August 13th in Piestany, Slovakia in Semi-Final action.
Canada has participated in the August Under-18 Tournament in Europe since 1996, capturing gold at eight of the nine events, including a gold medal finish last year. Other teams participating at the 2005 August U-18 Junior World Cup include: Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden and the United States.
