
Havoc sign Brown, release McKinlay

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has signed defenseman, Ryan Brown, and released Derek McKinlay.
"I can say that the decision to let Derek go was one of the toughest I have had to make as a coach," Gibson said. "I appreciate what he has done for the team over the last two seasons and I wish him and his family all the best."
Brown had just finished a five-game tryout for the Havoc. In all he has played in six games and has six penalty minutes. He played college hockey at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
McKinlay had played in 14 games for Huntsville and had two assists and 25 penalty minutes. He played in all 56 games for Huntsville last season and scored five goals, 14 assists and 116 penalty minutes.
The Havoc will host the Jacksonville Barracudas on Thursday night at 7:05 and the Columbus Cottonmouths on Friday at 7:35.
