The Pee Dee Cyclones will be busy heading into the Christmas weekend. The Cyclones will travel to Columbus, Georgia to face the Cottonmouths on Thursday night (12/22) and then return to the FCC to face the Jacksonville Barracudas on Friday night (12/23). The Cyclones begin the week in fifth place in the SPHL with a record of 9 wins - 11 losses- 2 overtime losses. They are only one point behind fourth place Huntsville and six points behind third place Florida.

Upcoming games & promotions:

Thursday, December 22nd @ Columbus Cottonmouths (7:30PM). The fourth meeting of the year against the seventh place Cottonmouths (7 wins- 9 losses- 3 overtime losses). The ‘Clones are 1-1-1 against Columbus. Follow Thursday's action at www.pointstreak.com. Cyclones Head Coach Mark Richards will be serving the final game of his three game suspension and Assistant Coach Chris Duggan will be behind the bench.

Friday, December 23rd vs. Jacksonville Barracudas (7:35PM) @ Florence Civic Center. It's the fifth meeting of the year against Jacksonville with Pee Dee leading the series 2-1-1. Pee Dee won the last meeting 5-4 in overtime back on November 29th. The Barracudas are coached by former NHL star Ron Duguay who happens to be married to the model Kim Alexis. Promotion: Santa "Clone" will be in attendance to grant all of your hockey wishes, and stop by the Cyclones Merchandise Stand for great last minute holiday gift ideas.

Cyclones Player Notes: The Cyclones made a couple of roster moves before Saturday's game in Fayetteville. Defenseman Dan Pszenyczny and Forward Mark Allen were both placed on the SPHL's new 30 day injured reserve list. Pszenyczny is recovering from a lower body injury while Allen recovers from an upper body injury. Defenseman Corey Dean played his first game on Saturday night. The 6'-6", 255 pound native of Wasilla, Alaska previously played in the SPHL in both Huntsville and in Winston-Salem. This year, he started the season with Trois Rivieres of the Canadian LNAH.

Forward Shaun Aebig is back as the ‘Clones leading scorer with 8 goals-19 assists-27 points. Edan Welch leads the team in goals with 14, and Aebig & Trevor Karasiewicz lead in assists with 19. Chris Murphy leads the Cyclones in penalty minutes with 116 in 21 games. Cyclones in the Community

Join Cyclones Head Coach Mark Richards and selected players every Tuesday night at 7:30PM at the Phoenix Bar & Grill in the Thunderbird Hotel on Highway 52 and I-95 for the Cyclones Radio Show on 100.1 FM "The Fan" as a part of the weekly "Press Box PM" radio program with host Emerson "E-Daddy" Phillips.

Monday, December 19th, team members will be at the McLeod Children's Hospital at 2:30PM to distribute some of the 350+ Teddy Bears that were collected at the "Teddy Bear Toss" on December 3rd, and players will also be appearing at Carver Elementary School at 1:00PM.

Tuesday, December 20th: team members will be appearing at Wallace Gregg Elementary at 1:00PM and Briggs Elementary at 1:00PM.

Cyclones Practice Schedule: The Cyclones practice most days at the Florence Civic Center except when the team is on the road.
