LAST WEEK:
TUE Dec. 13 Knoxville @ SEALS (5-2 WIN) 7:35 p.m. Silver Spurs Arena
Florida ran their win streak to seven games with the 5-2 victory Tuesday night at the Silver Spurs Arena. Florida's special teams led the way with two power play goals and one shorthanded goal. Florida took the lead just 36-seconds into the contest when Steve Zoryk continued his hot streak. Knoxville's Curtis Menzul tied the game up in the opening period before the Seals went on with two more goals of their own to take a two-goal lead into the locker room. The Seals opened up a four-goal lead in the third period before Knoxville added a late meaningless goal.
THU Dec. 15 SEALS @ Huntsville (3-1 loss) 8:05 p.m. Von Braun Center
The Seals saw their seven game winning streak snapped by the Havoc 3-1 in Huntsville. Florida didn't generate any offense until David Deeves wiped the goose egg off the scored board with less than two minutes remaining in the game. James Patterson, Jason deGuehery and former Seal Don Patrick who each had a goal, led the Havoc offensively.
SAT Dec. 17 SEALS @ Jacksonville (5-4 loss) 7:05 p.m. Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena
For the first time this season, Florida did not get a point when having the lead after two periods of play. The teams went scoreless in the first period before an offensive seven-goal explosion in the second frame. After coming back from behind twice in the second period, the Seals took a 4-3 lead into the third period. Playing a few players short in the final frame due to injuries and game misconducts the Seals ran out of gas and saw the Barracudas score twice in the final frame to claim the victory.
