
Havoc Drops Two Of Three

HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc lost two of three games over the weekend falling twice to the Columbus Cottonmouths and beating the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
Tuesday, January 10 -Huntsville 2, Augusta 3
COLUMBUS, GA - The Huntsville Havoc jumped out to a early 1-0 lead but couldn't find the back of the net for the rest of the game in a 4-1 loss at Columbus on Tuesday night.
Dennis Sicard scored with 10:17 left in the first period to give the Havoc the early 1-0 lead. Greg Beller tied the game with 2:06 left in the first when he scored on the Columbus powerplay.
The game was still tied 1-1 heading into the third period before Columbus scored three goals. Mitch Wall scored the game-winner with 16:34 left and Beller added his second of the game with 15:24 to go. John Sullivan added an empty net goal with :19 left.
Matt Hache allowed three goals and made 25 saves in the loss. Ian Vigier made 20 saves in the win.
Friday, January 13 - Pensacola 4, Huntsville 6
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc scored two goals in each period on their way to a 6-4 win over the Pensacola Ice Flyers on Friday night.
Mike Carter put Pensacola on the board first when he scored a power play goal with 13:29 left in the first period.
Ray Ortiz would tied the game at 1-1 with 10:27 to go in the first and Dennis Sicard gave the Havoc a 2-1 lead with 8:40 left in the period. The Havoc took the 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
Justin Fox and Ryan Kretzer both scored second period goals and Chris Wilson added one for Pensacola and the Havoc had a 4-2 lead after two periods of play.
Kretzer scored his second goal of the night just :50 into the third period to give the Havoc a three-goal lead at 5-2. The Ice Flyers got back-to-back goals by Andrew Harrison and Carter to cut the lead to 5-4 with 7:30 left in the game.
Sicard added his second goal of the night with 3:29 left to seal the win.
Matt Hache made 22 saves in the win while Adam Ward made 26 in the loss.
Saturday, January 14 - Columbus 5, Huntsville 1
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Columbus Cottonmouths took care of the Huntsville Havoc 5-1 on Saturday night making it the second win over the Havoc this week for Columbus.
Columbus took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission after Greg Beller scored a powerplay goal with 5:58 left in the period.
Dennis Sicard tied the game with 14:05 left in the second period but Columbus responded with goals by Orrin Hergott with 8:24 left and Sam Bowles with 1:52 left.
Jesse Cole scored a powerplay goal just :38 into the third period and Brett Tyler finished the scoring with 12:37 left.
Andrew Loewen made 29 saves in the win while Matt Hache made 18 in the loss.
