Mississippi Surge News Release

Carolina Bound: The Mississippi Surge head to Fayetteville, North Carolina, for a pair of weekend games with the FireAntz. They play there Friday at 6:30 p.m., Central time, and play there Sunday at 3 p.m. Central time.

Perfect Week: The Surge won its only game of the week, last week beating first place Augusta, 4-2. It was the second straight time the Surge beat Augusta at home, and the third straight win for the Surge over a team that was in first place, at the time the Surge played them.

Great Start: The Surge added center Tyler Ruel to the line up before Friday's game and he made his start a memorable one. His goal with 1:22 left in the third period stood up as the game winning goal. He also had an assist in the game and was +2.

Special K: Matt Kinnunen assisted on the Surge's fourth goal of the game. That stretched his point streak to five straight games, with three goals and three assists in that half dozen games.

Count On Campy: Chris Campanale had an assist on Jeff Grant's goal (the Surge's first goal of the game Friday). The two teams have played each other five times, and he has had points in four of those five games, including opening night when he was playing for Augusta against the Surge.

Back Home: The Surge returns home Tuesday January 24th against Pensacola. It will be $5 fun night, with tickets available for $5.

Tickets Here: Tickets for all Surge games are on sale now. For group discounts and more information call the Surge at 228-287-PUCK (7825).
