
Hartinger Named Defenseman Of The Year

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Vladimir Hartinger has been named the CHL Defenseman of the Year. The recipient was determined in a vote by league coaches, communication departments and media members.
Hartinger, 28, is currently leading all CHL defenseman in points with 61, including 41 assists. His 20 goals this season, a career high, is second among CHL blue liners. With his team on the power play, Hartinger has scored 36 points (10G, 26A), most by any defenseman this season.

The Scorpions' captain has also been the leader on the back end, helping keep opponents at bay. He also is a physical force with his patented hip check being proof.
"This award is very well deserved, he has been a leader all season for our team on and off the ice," said head coach Randy Murphy. "He is a great two way player and we expect him continue to lead us through the playoffs."
In addition to his numbers this season, Hartinger has helped rewrite the Scorps organizational records. Heading into tonight's game, the Albuquerque resident has appeared in 190 games in a Scorpions jersey, second most all-time. His 145 points while playing for the Scorpions is most by a defenseman in the team's 11 year history.
The Scorpions will head to Amarillo for an important game Friday night. The puck drops at 6:05 p.m. can be heard live on 1050 KTBL or seen for free on the CHL Network.
The final regular season home game is Saturday, March 22nd with Amarillo visiting the Santa Ana Star Center. It will be "Fan Appreciation Night" with a chance to win $10,000 in cash, airline tickets or a beautiful safe filled with prizes.
