Hartford Athletic News Release
Hartford Athletic is proud to announce its 2022 edition of Match for a Cause, which will benefit The Grace Academy of Hartford. The match will be played on Saturday, October 1st, at 7 PM at Trinity Health Stadium.
The Grace Academy, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization is an independent, interfaith, tuition-free middle school for girls from under-served families in the city of Hartford. They aim to transform students' lives through a challenging and diverse academic program offered in a safe and inspiring environment where students can receive individualized attention. The school's values of respect, leadership through academic excellence, courageous compassion, hospitality, joy, and grace are intertwined with their mission and goal to educate students that are caring, critical thinkers, and leaders in the school and community. The Grace Academy offers a variety of clubs and sports to enrich their students' experiences further, working with numerous partners to provide these opportunities.
Hartford Athletic unveiled special neon green jerseys that will be worn during the match and then auctioned off to benefit The Grace Academy and its ventures. Over the first three Matches for a Cause, Hartford Athletic and Stanley Black & Decker teamed up to raise $44,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hartford, Girls For Technology, and The Legacy Foundation - the beneficiaries of the first three editions, respectively.
