Harrisburg Senators News Release
TONIGHT'S GAME The Senators look to even their series with the Hartford Yard Goats Tuesday night at FNB Field. The Senators fell in the series opener 10-6 after the Yard Goats broke the game open with a 10- batter, six-run fourth inning. Hartford swept the Senators in their only other series of the season April 20-22 at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The two clubs are scheduled to play 16 games against each other this season.
LEAGUE LEADERS After Yadiel Hernandez's three-hit night in the series opener, the outfielder is now fourth in the Eastern League with a .421 on-base percentage. Daniel Johnson is tied for the league lead with three triples and Jefry Rodriguez is currently second with 31 strikeouts this season.
CLOSE MISSES The Senators had an 8-1 lead in the seventh inning of Sunday's series finale against Altoona, but the Curve scored eight runs over the final two innings for the 9-8 win. The loss was the Senators' fourth one-run loss this season, which is tied for most in the Eastern League, and it's also the ninth one-run game the club has played which is tied for second most in the league. The game was also the Senators' second loss this season when leading after the eighth inning, which leads the league.
ROSTER MOVEMENT Reliever Phillips Valdez was promoted to Syracuse prior to Monday's series opener and pitcher Jeff Ames was added to the Senators. Ames was signed by the Nationals as Minor League free agent on March 3, 2018. The right-hander tossed two perfect innings in his first appearance with the Senators in the series opener against Hartford. Ames was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in 1st round of the 2011 draft.
BRADY'S BEST Saturday night starter Brady Dragmire was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 23-29. Dragmire went a career-high eight innings in his lone start on April 29 against Altoona and retired 24 of the 25 batters he faced. The right-hander had a perfect game through five innings until Stephen Alemais reached on an infield single to lead off the sixth. That was the only baserunner of the game for the Curve. Dragmire and reliever Roman Mendez combined to retire 27 of the 28 batters faced in the game. SENATORS STARTING PITCHER Luis Reyes starts for the Senators in game two of the series. The right-hander is 1-2 with a 7.29 ERA across four starts this season. Reyes allowed just two runs on three hits in his last start against Trenton on April 25. For more information on Reyes, please turn to the starting pitcher page on page two of the game notes.
HARTFORD STARTING PITCHER The Yard Goats counter with starter Jesus Tinoco. The right-hander is 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA in four starts this season. Tinoco started against the Senators on April 20 and allowed three runs on four hits over five and two-thirds innings. The 23-year-old was acquired by the Rockies as part of the trade that sent Troy Tulowitzki to the Blue Jays.
