TONIGHT'S GAMES The Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels play a doubleheader Saturday night at the Diamond, making up a postponed game from May 17. The Senators came back from down five runs early to win the series opener 8-7 on a go-ahead home run by Daniel Murphy in the eighth. The Senators won two out of three from Richmond in a rain shortened series May 17-20 at the Diamond. The two teams are scheduled to play 19 games against each other this season, with 11 in Richmond and eight at FNB Field.
COMEBACK SEASON The Senators five-run comeback in the series opener was their largest deficit they've overcome to win this season. The game is also the third time in the past seven games the Senators have come back to win down three runs or more.
BULLPEN BOASTING Over the past two games, neither Senators starting pitcher has lasted past second inning, however the Senators bullpen has thrown 14.2 consecutive shutout innings, limiting opponents to seven hits and two walks while striking out 15. Austen Williams has allowed one run over his previous 19.1 innings of relief, with 27 strike outs and just six walks. Opposing batters are hitting just .171 against him over that stretch.
CROWD SURFING The Senators had an attendance of 8,036 fans at FNB Field on Wednesday night, the third largest crowd in modern Senators history which dates back to 1987. The only two crowds larger than that were for Stephen Strasburg and Ivan Rodriguez's rehab appearance along with the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo on September 1, 2011 (8,637) and Bryce Harper's Senators debut on July 4, 2011 (8,092).
EASTERN LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Adam Brett Walker was named Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of May 28 to June 3rd. Walker was the Eastern League weekly leader in slugging percentage (.864), OPS (1.308), triples (2), and tied for the league lead in home runs (2) and extra base hits (5).
