The Harrisburg Senators try for the series win in game two of the series against Hartford. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
TONIGHT'S GAME The Senators and Hartford Yard Goats play game two of a three game series Wednesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The Senators won the series opener 8-4, highlighted by home runs from Kelvin Gutierrez and Brian Goodwin. The Senators are 2-5 against Hartford this season. The Senators were swept in a three-game series in their only other series at Dunkin' Donuts Park this season May 20-22. This is the last series the Senators play at Hartford this year.
DJ TURN IT UP Daniel Johnson finished 4-5 on Tuesday, becoming the third Senators player to record four hits in a game this season. Johnson leads all Senators players with 15 multi-hit games this season. The 22-year-old leads the Eastern League with six triples this season.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK Kyle McGowin was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 21-27. The right-hander went 2-0 with 20 strikeouts and a 1.38 ERA. McGowin's week was highlighted by his start on May 21 against Erie where tossed seven shutout innings and struck out a career- high 10, while facing just two over the minimum. The 26-year-old is the second Senators player this season to win Pitcher of the Week after Brady Dragmire won the award for April 23 to 29.
REHAB PLAYERS Daniel Murphy and Brian Goodwin are the first two rehab players to play for the Senators this season after being added to the roster on May 26 . Murphy is in his third year with the Nationals and has finished second in the National League in batting average each of the past two seasons. Goodwin has played with the Nationals in parts of each of the past two seasons and played for the Senators in 2012, 2013 and 2015. In addition, reliever Matt Grace joined the Senators on rehab on Monday.
WEST SIDE STORY The Senators are 17-9 against the Western Division, which is the best winning percentage against the division for any of the Western Division teams. The Senators are just 7-16 vs. the Eastern Division. The Senators next eight games are against the Eastern Division.
MAY-FLYING The Senators ERA in May sits at 3.59, the third lowest mark in the Eastern League. Only Trenton (3.08), and Akron (3.13) have a lower team ERA in the month of May. The Senators ended April with a 4.20 ERA, which was last in the league. SENATORS STARTING PITCHER Brady Dragmire starts game two of the series for the Senators. The right-hander is 4-2 with a 2.43 ERA across 10 starts this season. For more information on Dragmire, please turn to page two of the game notes.
HARTFORD STARTING PITCHER Hartford counters with starter Jack Wynkoop. The left-hander is 2-4 with a 5.83 ERA across nine starts this season. Wynkoop surrendered six runs, five earned, on 11 hits over five innings in his last start against New Hampshire on May 5. The 24-year-old was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2015 draft from South Carolina.
