Corpus Christi Hooks News Release
FRISCO - Dustin Harris belted two home runs and drove in six as the RoughRiders knocked off the Hooks, 8-2, before 6,022 fans Saturday night at Riders Field.
Frisco pitching, led by lefty Cole Ragans, held CC to four hits. The Hooks had mustered 27 runs over their three-game win streak, which was stopped Saturday.
The Riders managed two markers in the first and then went ahead, 4-0, on a two-run clout by Harris against Tyler Brown.
Brown permitted five hits and three walks while lasting a season-best five innings.
The first knock yielded by Ragans was a lead-off double by Bryan Arias in the fifth. Luke Berryhill provided a parting shot in the sixth with a two-run, opposite-field dinger to right. Berryhill, who hit a grand slam Friday night, cashed in on an infield base hit by Wilyer Abreu.
Ragans struck out nine and was relieved by Grant Anderson and Fer Ozuna, who teamed to allow one hit over the final three innings.
The Riders cemented the win with a four spot in the seventh against Derek West. Harris provided the big blow with a three-run home run, his fourth long ball of the series.
Justin Dirden and Enmanuel Valdez had their hitting streaks snapped at 13 and eight, respectively.
Corpus Christi takes aim at a series win Sunday afternoon with lefty Julio Robaina on the hill. Frisco is slated to pitch Justin Slaten. Game time 4 PM.
