Hamill Returns to Providence

Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned forward Zach Hamill to the Providence Bruins.

Hamill, 23, has skated in 16 contests for Boston this season and registered two assists. In his career, the forward has played in 20 NHL games, recording four assists.

The Vancouver, BC native has 7-714 totals through 25 AHL games this season. Hamill spent the majority of last season in Providence and finished second on the team in scoring with 9-3443 totals. He earned one recall to Boston from February 3-13, 2011 and tallied one assist in three NHL games.

The 5'11", 180-pound forward was originally drafted by the Bruins in the first round (8th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The P-Bruins are in St. John's for a two-game series with the IceCaps Tuedsay and Wednesday. The club returns to Rhode Island on Friday, February 10 versus the Portland Pirates. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. for "Sport Bottle Night," which are free to first 2,000 fans. The team has a rare Saturday off before closing out the weekend at The Dunk on Sunday in a 4:05 p.m. tilt with the Albany Devils for "Kids Cinch Bag Night," with bags free to the first 1,000 kids 12 and under.
