The Binghamton Senators began a stretch of four straight road games against the Manchester Monarchs on Friday night. Marc-Andre Cliche scored on the power play at 3:37 of overtime to clinch a 3-2 victory for the Monarchs and effectively end a four-game win streak for the B-Sens.
Linden Vey and Dwight King each scored regulation goals for the Monarchs. Vey also tallied a pair of assists to earn three points in the game.
Mike Hoffman and Jack Downing each scored for the B-Sens. Hoffman also assisted on Downing's goal, to push his point total for the night to two.
Mike McKenna started in goal for the B-Sens making 26 saves as he fell to 13-13-0 on the season. Jeff Zatkoff made 30 saves for the Monarchs to improve to 14-8-1.

The B-Sens dropped their second straight game Saturday night, losing to the Portland Pirates 5-2 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The loss was the first in regulation for the B-Sens since falling to the Sound Tigers in Bridgeport on Jan. 15.
Three of the five goals scored by the Pirates came from blueliners. Mathieu Brodeur, Tyler Eckford and Michael Stone each tallied goals against the B-Sens. Alexandre Bolduc added a goal and an assist and Brett MacLean also scored for Portland.
Jack Downing and David Dziurzynski each scored for the B-Sens.
Robin Lehner made 32 saves in his first start in goal since Jan. 20 (a 4-3 Binghamton victory over the Hershey Bears). The loss dropped his record to 7-14-1 on the season. Portland's Justin Pogge earned the "W" as he made 30 saves to improve to 10-8-3.
Record: 20-25-2-1
Standings: The B-Sens are fifth place in the East Division (43 points).
THIS WEEK...
Saturday, Feb. 11 @ St. John's IceCaps (Winnipeg Jets) - 6 p.m. EST
Sunday, Feb. 12 @ St. John's IceCaps - 2:30 p.m. EST
The B-Sens travel to St. John's this week for a pair of road games against the IceCaps. The games are the first of four between the teams this season.
Entering the week, the IceCaps lead the Atlantic Division with a record of 28-12-5-1 and 62 points, six points ahead of the second place Manchester Monarchs. The IceCaps, who have gone 6-3-1-0 in their last ten games, host the Providence Bruins in back-to-back games beginning tonight before welcoming the B-Sens to the Mile One Centre.
Spencer Machacek, reassigned to the IceCaps by the Winnipeg Jets earlier today, currently leads the team in points. The ring wing has posted 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 44 games this season. Paul Postma leads all IceCaps defenseman and ranks second overall among his American Hockey League peers in scoring with 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists).
Fans can listen to this week's games live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM). Voice of the B-Sens, Grady Whittenburg will have the call beginning 30 minutes before game time as he hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.
SENS SNIPPETS...
Forward Jack Downing currently holds the longest active point streak among B-Sens players. Downing has scored goals in three straight games and has posted four points in six games since being recalled from Binghamton's ECHL affiliate Elmira Jackals on Jan. 17.
The Binghamton Senators have crept their way up in power play rankings since the turn of the calendar year. Entering their Dec. 31 home game versus the Syracuse Crunch, the B-Sens' power play ranked 14th in the league at 19.1% (26 for 136). The B-Sens power play unit now ranks fourth overall in the league at 21% (42 for 200) and second overall at home at 24.6% (28 for 114).
