Halak Reassigned To Hamilton

Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release


LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that the Montreal Canadiens have reassigned goaltender Jaroslav Halak to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Halak has been on the 30 day injured reserve list since he suffered a groin injury during a game against the Idaho Steelheads on November 4th. In 3 games played this season for the Ice Dogs, he had a record of 1-0-0 with a 1.07 goals against average, 0.957 save percentage, and 1 shutout. Originally drafted in the 9th round, 271st overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Halak is in his first professional season.

So far this season, two other players have been called up by Hamilton. James Sanford was recalled on November 11th and has 3 points in 14 games so far with the Bulldogs. Cory Urquhart was recently called up on December 10th, getting 1 point in 2 games before retuning to the Ice Dogs this week.
