Camden, NJ - Matt Hagen launched a hanging breaking ball down the left field line for a 10th-inning go-ahead homer and the Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks 3-2 in extra innings at Campbells Field in the opener of a four-game series.

Hagen sent a shot off Ryan McKellar after both teams had struggled to score in the late innings. The game remained tied at 2-2 from the 5th inning on until Hagen broke the deadlock with his sixth homer of the year. McKellar (4-5) had tossed a scoreless 9th before Hagen won the game. Scott Williamson threw a perfect 10th for his fourth save.

Starters Brian Adams and Gabriel Alfaro each tossed quality outings. Adams went 6.0 innings and despite four walks, allowed just two runs on a Chris Malec game-tying two-run single in the 5th. Adams struck out seven batters on his night. Alfaro allowed a Josh Pressley RBI in the 1st and a Noah Hall run-scoring hit in the 3rd before settling down, retiring 12 of the final 15 men he faced. In 6.2 innings, Alfaro allowed just seven hits and two runs.

The Somerset bullpen was outstanding with Ben Grezlovski and Andrew Dobies (3-1) combining for three scoreless innings, along with Williamson's spotless 10th.
