Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Yesterday, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that RHP Javy Guerra had been promoted from Chattanooga to Los Angeles. The righty reliever promptly made his Major League debut on Sunday, holding the Arizona Diamondbacks to just one hit, while striking out one in one inning of work.

Guerra, 25, got off to a hot start with the Lookouts in 2011. In 17 innings, spanning 14 games, he posted a 1-0 record to go with three saves and a 1.06 ERA. He struck out 15, while surrendering just eights hits and five walks. The 2004 fourth round selection began the season as the lone player on the Lookouts' roster who was also on the Dodgers' 40-man roster.

The 2011 season was the third season in which he donned a Lookouts' uniform. He made his debut for the Lookouts in 2009, posting a 4.13 ERA in 23 games. In 2010, despite battling injuries, which landed him on the disabled list twice, he went 2-0 with five saves and a 2.33 ERA.

The Denton, Texas native cracked Baseball America's preseason Top 30 Prospects list for the Los Angeles Dodgers at number 26.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Tennessee Smokies will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., today. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
