Newfoundland Growlers News Release

Eamon McAdam was perfect between the pipes making 39 saves as the Newfoundland Growlers put themselves back in the win column with a 3-0 victory over the Brampton Beast Tuesday night at Mile One Centre.

The opening period saw good back-and-forth action, but nothing to show for on the scoreboard as both goaltenders made 10 saves each. Zach O'Brien had the best chance of the period striking iron at 9:59.

Brady Ferguson opened the scoring at 1:11 of the second period tucking it short-side on Étienne Marcoux for a powerplay tally to give the Growlers a 1-0 lead.

Scott Pooley extended the lead to 2-0 after one-timing a Matt Bradley pass into the back of the net at 9:14 of the middle frame for his team-leading 20th of the season, and Hudson Elynuik made it a 3-0 game just 55 seconds later re-directing an Anthony Cortese point shot past Marcoux.

The final period was scoreless just like the first, but Eamon McAdam was busy making 18 saves. The Beast pulled their goaltender with 5:40 left in the game while on a powerplay for a two-man advantage to try and get back in the game, but the Growlers successfully killed it off and held on for the 3-0 win.
