WALLEYE NOTES
Nagle shutout highlights week: After dropping an overtime game Thursday to Kalamazoo and a 5-2 loss Friday to Tulsa, goaltender Pat Nagle made sure Toledo would not drop three in a row with a 38 save performance in a Walleye 2-0 win over Brampton Saturday night. It was the 15th career ECHL shutout for Nagle which ties him for 6th all-time in ECHL history.
Pack the barn: Toledo posted yet another sellout crowd by welcoming in 8,000 in Saturday's game vs. Brampton. It was the 16th sellout crowd of the season for the Walleye who are averaging an above capacity 7,652 per contest (sellout is 7,431). That is the second highest among all ECHL teams.
Home ice dominance: The regulation loss Friday night to Tulsa was just the fourth all season for the Walleye at the Huntington Center. Only Cincinnati (1) has lost fewer home games in regulation this season than Toledo.
Leading the way: Although his point streak was snapped on Saturday, TJ Hensick continues his dominance over the ECHL with a league best 56 points (16G, 40A) in just 45 games. His 40 assists is also pacing the ECHL with 17 of those coming on the power play (3rd among all players).
Speaking of leading: When the Walleye take the lead they win those games. Toledo has a record of 16-1-2-2 when holding a lead after the first and are 18-0-3-0 when they lead the game going to the final period.
Short week: Toledo has just one team on the schedule for this week with the Indy Fuel coming to the Glass City for back to back games on Saturday and Sunday. The Walleye own a 2-1-1 record against the Fuel this year, including a 4-2 win on December 1st which is the lone game played this year between the two teams at the Huntington Center.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Greg Wolfe (2 goals - 3 assists = 5 points)
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Pat Nagle (1-0-1, 1.99 GAA, .951 save %)
