
Bonar Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Second Time

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sean Bonar has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3. It is the second time in the last three weeks that he has received the weekly honor.
The 27-year-old went 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.33 goals-against average and a save percentage of .949 in three appearances last week. Bonar, who was also named ECHL Goaltender of the Month for January, stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 4-0 win against Greenville on Wednesday, made 29 saves in a 2-1 victory over Florida on Thursday and turned aside 30 shots in a 4-3 win against Orlando on Saturday. A native of Delta, British Columbia, Bonar has posted a 11-8-2 record in 22 appearances with the Gladiators this season. He ranks second in the ECHL with a 2.13 goals-against average, is tied for second with three shutouts and is tied for third with a .929 save percentage.
Bonar has seen action in 74 career ECHL games with Atlanta, Brampton, Fort Wayne, Wichita, Indy and Orlando compiling an overall record of 31-30-6 with six shutouts, a 2.66 goals-against average and a save percentage of .915. He also has 70 games of experience in the Southern Professional Hockey League with Fayetteville and Pensacola.
