
Growlers Fall Short to Mallards 5-1

Kalamazoo, Mich - 3,574 fans in attendance saw the defending Northwoods League Champion Madison Mallards beat the Kalamazoo Growlers by a score of 5-1.
The Growlers (16-20) struggled to hit Mallards pitching and totaled five hits.
Grant Van Putten (Calvin College) added the only RBI for the Growlers, Van Putten went 1-for-2.
Growlers starter Ryan Colegate stretched his outing into the sixth inning and gave up seven hits with three earned runs and five strikeouts.
The Growlers look to close the season with a win on Sunday, August 10 against the Mallards. Game time is set for 5:05.
The Growlers inaugural season will come to a close this Sunday. To thank the fans for all their support this season, the Growlers will be having a Fan Appreciation Night. Prizes will be given away all night long, starting with the final baseball card set given away to the first 500 fans.
