Dave Klahs pitched four scoreless innings in releif, and the Grizzlies scored two runs in the top of the 12th inning to beat the Mid-Missouri Mavericks 5-3 Saturday night at Taylor Stadium in Columbia, MO.
The Grizzlies improve to 23-20. The Mavericks are now 18-28.
Tony Coyne and Todd Oetting each picked up RBIs in the 12th inning to secure the win.
With the score 3-1 Mid-Missouri, Oetting picked up a two-run double in the eighth to tie the score at 3.
Klahs pitched the 8th-12th innings to earn the win. He is now 2-3. Dan Smith pitched the bottom of the 12th to earn his 5th save of the season.
Oetting was 3-5 on the night with the 3 RBIs. Brad Bauder was also 3-5 on the night. He had a pair of runs scored.
Josh Lane started and went the first 5 1/3 innings allowing two runs. He struck out seven.
The Grizzlies and Mavericks will continue the seris with a 6:05 game Sunday evening at Taylor Stadium. Listen in on the Grizzlies radio network beginning at 6:00 p.m.
