
Grizzlies to play host to three major Division I matchups

The Gateway Grizzlies announced today that they will play host to three NCAA Division I wood bat match-ups at GCS Ballpark in 2007.
The premier match-up will take place on May 15th when the University of Missouri takes on the University of Illinois in their annual rivalry game at 6:35 p.m. The University of Missouri will also play Southern Illinois University-Carbondale at 6:35 p.m. on April 3rd. Lastly, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale will battle Saint Louis University on April 25th at 7:05 p.m.
Tickets to all three events will go on sale Thursday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be obtained by visiting the GCS Ballpark ticket office, over the phone by calling 618-337-3000 or on-line at www.gatewaygrizzlies.com
"Our premier college games have always been a big hit," said Grizzlies General Manager Tony Funderburg. "People look forward to coming out to the ballpark before our season begins to see top notch ball players. It's a great way to get the fans excited about another baseball season".
The Grizzlies open their 2007 home season Wednesday, May 23rd 2007 against the Southern Illinois Miners.
