Grizzlies to Host Tribute to Military Saturday, VA Visit Thursday

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies will hold their Tribute to the Military and Veterans Saturday when they host Idaho at 7 p.m.

The team will kickoff their Tribute to the Military Thursday at 2 p.m. when select players and Grizzbee pay a visit to the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City to distribute tickets to the game to: patients, their families, staff and volunteers. The VA Medical Center is located at 500 South Foothill Drive.

The Grizzlies will be wearing specialty uniforms modeled after the Army Service Uniform. Each uniform will have a Name Tape with the last name of a Grizzlies season ticket holder or family member who has served or is serving in the military.

The uniforms will be auctioned off live after the game with all proceeds going to the Salt Lake City Fisher House. The Fisher House houses families of all ages while veterans and military are receiving medical treatment.

During the game, the Grizzlies will honor season ticket holders who have served in the military on the video board. Following the second intermission, players, coaches and officials will join fans in the singing of God Bless America. The Star Spangled Banner for the evening will be performed by American Hitmen who have all served in the military.
