WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames and Adirondack Flames of the AHL, announced Tuesday that they have signed goaltender Jacob DeSerres to an amateur tryout agreement.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound netminder spent the previous four seasons at the University of Calgary, where he was named the CIS "Goaltender of the Year" during the 2013-14 season, while also being named to the CIS All-Canadian First Team during that same season. The Calgary, Alberta native went 32-13-2 in 48 total games with the Dinos, registering a 2.19 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

Prior to making the jump to the collegiate game, DeSerres spent five seasons at the major-junior level with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL; leading Brandon to the Memorial Cup Finals in 2010. He would conclude his junior career by backstopping the St. John Sea Dogs to a QMJHL Championship and ultimately a Memorial Cup Championship in 2011. DeSerres appeared in 154 regular season games at the major junior level, posting a record of 93-47-5, to go along with a cumulative goals-against average of 2.67 and a .906 save percentage.

DeSerres was selected in the 3rd round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers after finishing the 2007-08 season tied for the best save percentage in the WHL at .922.
